About OSASUNA
Osasuna is the only Navarra club to play in La Liga.
Although the club has never won a domestic trophy, it has reached the Copa del Rey final in 2005 and 2023.
The club's best league results were fourth places in the 1990–91 and 2005–06 seasons.
"Los Rojillos" is the club's nickname, which means "The Little Reds".
The word "Osasuna" means "health" in Basque and is used to mean "strength" or "vigor", making Osasuna the only team in La Liga with a Basque name.
For various reasons, there is rivalry between Osasuna and Real Zaragoza, Real Madrid and some Basque clubs, notably Athletic Bilbao.
Osasuna has a cantera that has produced several successful players similar to other clubs in the Grand Basque region.
The club was founded on October 24, 1920, and its name "Osasuna", which means "health" in Basque, was chosen by Benjamin Andoyan Martinez.
When Spanish football became professional in 1928, Osasuna were relegated to the third division and after the 1931–32 season they were promoted to the Segunda Division, winning the playoffs against Nacional de Madrid.
Three seasons later they made it to La Liga.
That same season they reached the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey and lost to Sevilla.
The following season, Osasuna again reached the semi-finals, this time losing to Barcelona in two legs despite winning the first leg.
