Ezequiel Ponce is an Argentine professional football player. He was born on March 29, 1997, in Resistencia, Argentina. Ponce primarily plays as a forward but can also operate as a winger. Ponce began his senior career at the Argentine club team Club Atlético Newell's Old Boys in 2014. However, his breakthrough moment came when he signed with the Italian club AS Roma in 2015. Despite being highly rated, Ponce struggled to establish himself in the Roma first team and was loaned out to various clubs. During his loan spells, Ponce played for Granada CF in Spain, AEK Athens in Greece, Lille OSC in France, and Spartak Moscow in Russia. These loan moves provided Ponce with valuable playing time and experience. Internationally, Ponce has represented Argentina at various youth levels. He has competed in the U20 South American Championship and the FIFA U20 World Cup, where he was the tournament's top scorer in 2015. Although Ponce is still considered a promising talent, his career has been somewhat inconsistent due to lack of regular playing time at club level. However, he remains a player to watch due to his technical skill, speed, and goal-scoring ability.
