After progressing through the ranks, he made his senior debut for 1860 Munich II in the German fifth-tier Regionalliga in 2009. His impressive performances earned him a promotion to the first team. In 2014, Schindler joined Huddersfield Town in England, who at the time played in the Championship. He became a crucial member of the team and played a significant role in Huddersfield's promotion to the Premier League in the 2016-2017 season. One of his most memorable moments came in the Championship Playoff Final, when he scored the decisive penalty kick to secure promotion for Huddersfield. During their debut Premier League campaign, Huddersfield Town managed to avoid relegation with Schindler's defensive contributions being instrumental. However, the team was ultimately relegated in the following season. Despite the relegation, Schindler remained with the club and continued to be an important player for Huddersfield in the second-tier Championship. Schindler has also represented the German national team at various youth levels, including the Under-20 and Under-21 teams. However, he has yet to earn a senior international cap. As of now, Schindler continues to play for Huddersfield Town, where he is highly regarded for his defensive abilities and leadership qualities on the field.
